What are you going to study in China?

Hello!


My name is Clara and I have indeed studied in China. I studied International Communications in University of Nottingham Ningbo and I think that answering this question can help other people who might come across with it.


I was an exchange student last semester in Nottingham. I am originally from Spain so I was quite excited and worried about living on another country. I was also intriguided about my education, as I had never studied in English or had chinese colleagues. But regardless, I took the decision of studying in China and it has been one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. I would like to be there now, but unfortunately due to coronavirus I had to return home


In my opinion, studying International Communications on a totally different country is a great decision. I think that China has a very particular view on many different subjects and even though I was studying on an English based University, the atmosphere and the teachers were very different from what I was used to. Also, it gave a great opportunity to do some research on different areas, as UNNC’s library had a great deal of books. I also learned to write essays as in Spain I was only used to take exams. So it has not only given me another perspective on my field of study but new skills that are going to be valuable in the work place


Studying in China has also given me great friendships, with chinese and international students and many opportunities to travel and explore places. I discovered the big city of Shanghai and fell in love with it and I also learned some mandarin and encouraged me to learn even more. I also got a better understanding on chinese culture and its people and even though I had a couple of crushes due to my different culture, I definetely enjoyed the experience and look forward to coming back to China as soon as I can.
